Ragamuffin?

Wow, long time no post but wanted to get some opinions so here we go. I have been reading Brennan Manning "The Ragamuffin Gospel" I am on chapter four and it seems to be pretty good. Just wondering what other people thought about this book that have read it.

Wow such a long time for no post on this thing. I figure a birthday would be a great time to update.

Things are going good here at LSU. For those of you who don't know Ashley and I are now the Chi Alpha directors at LSU. It's exciting, but as with alot of things that are bigger than you, we sometimes freak out and ask "What are you thinking God putting us here?" The great part is that God has really been intentional at letting me know that he is with us here at LSU. That He wants to do great things here at LSU. I am really excited about the challenges that have already been put in our way! I know that sounds weird, but I know that our group and rally together and make a huge impact on this campus. : )

This summer I have gotten the oppertunity to travel all over the state and share the vision of Chi Alpha at LSU. I have really enjoyed getting to meet and connect with people that are living out their faith all over this state. Its really cool to me to see the Body of Christ being more than just my little world of Baton Rouge. We are all connected by Christ litterally all over the world! That pumps me up.

Well, in closing my challenge would be. Lets live for something bigger than ourselves!

Tozer

Long time no post, Tozer was shaking me this morning, thought i would share it.

"Personal Life: People Are What They Think About

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. --Proverbs 4:23

Every person is really what he or she secretly admires. If I can learn what you admire, I will know what you are, for people are what they think about when they are free to think about what they will.

Now, there are times when we are forced to think about things that we do not care to think about at all. All of us have to think about income taxes, but income taxes are not what we want to think about. The law makes us think about them every April. You may find me humped over Form 1040, just like everyone else, but that is not the real me. It is really the man with the tall hat and the spangled stars in Washington who says, "You can't let it go any longer!" I assure you it is not consentingly done! But if you can find what I think about when I am free to think about whatever I will, you will find the real me. That is true of every one of us.

Your baptism and your confirmation and your name on the church roll and the big Bible you carry--these are not the things that are important to God. You can train a chimpanzee to carry a Bible. Every one of us is the sum of what we secretly admire, what we think about and what we would like to do most if we became free to do what we wanted to do. Faith Beyond Reason, 96.

"Lord, You know the secret thoughts of my heart; nothing is hidden from You. May those thoughts be pure thoughts, pleasing to You, completely under the control of Your Holy Spirit. Amen." "

Good Morning all.  So  I am up at LaTech and  Ashley is over at SHSU.  I  haven't been here in about a year and a half. I haven't been to see the old XA house, but heard its pretty bad.  I have seen alot of the new things around here. Its kinda a sur-real feeling being in a place that you have previously spent a fairly large portion of your life.  Things are all so different but yet still somehow the same. I don't know as many people here,  alot of the buildings have change/been built.  Ruston now has more banks, more hotels, and then added something every LSU student can appericate a Canes.
Anyways, I hope all of you on Fall Break are enjoying your break.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Yeah its Tuesday morning and Ashley and I oh yeah and Sadie are sitting on the couch well i think all of us are on one half of the couch.  Eating powdered donuts, they are the greatest, and checkin out xanga.

On labor day ashley and I went with XA to go canoeing.  We got seriously burned.  The last two nights we have been pulling sheets of skin off each others backs.  It is crazy and disgusting all at the same time.

Ashley keeps correcting my speeling and grammer, i did that on purpose

Soooooooooo..... I guess I will right a real post later.
